The year 2026 brings two remarkable milestones – America’s 250th anniversary and Washington Township’s 230th birthday. Communities across the country are celebrating, including right here in Centerville-Washington Township. Washington Township, the City of Centerville, Washington-Centerville Public Library, Centerville-Washington Park District, Centerville-Washington History, the Americana Festival, and Centerville City Schools are working together to bring you these events.

Lantern Fest

Join us for a magical evening at Lantern Fest in Countryside Park! We'll light up the pond with glowing lanterns, and friends, family, and neighbors can share the evening together. Each lantern pack costs $10 and includes one lantern and a wristband for all activities. Tickets are on sale now. Enjoy food trucks, music, and games at the event, which is open to everyone. If you don't buy a lantern pack, you can still join a few free activities. Click here to purchase tickets.

Walk a half-mile paved path through a wonderland of holiday lights and displays at Woodland Lights. This month-long festival features more lights and more scenes each year, with the same winter charm that thousands of visitors enjoy. Visit our Woodland Lights website for more information.

Cruise-In to the Ice Cream Social

The Cruise-In to the Ice Cream Social shows off the services and departments that make Washington Township a great place to live, work, and play. See classic cars and hotrods of all makes and models, and enjoy games, free hot dogs and hamburgers, and free ice cream. The RecPlex will also be open, so families can enjoy free open swim, open gym, and rock climbing.

Kids can paint an ambulance, spray water at a pretend fire, and meet Sparky the fire dog. Everyone can watch live fire department demonstrations and get a close look at police, fire, and SWAT vehicles. Meet the public safety teams who protect and serve Washington Township every day.
