Rec’ing Crew After-School Program

Rec'ing Crew After-School Program

Our after-school program keeps your child safe, happy, and engaged in constructive pursuits with a staff that is dedicated to enriching your child's experience, acting as mentors, and providing positive role models.

Rec'ing Crew is for children in grades K-5 and is offered every day that Centerville Schools are in session. Sign up to participate one day a week, every day, or somewhere in between. Pay only for the days you need.

Transportation to Rec'ing Crew is provided by Centerville City Schools. Please contact the Centerville Schools Transportation Office at 937-885-7776 and your child's school to coordinate transportation.

Children will have the opportunity to create art, play active and quiet games, splash around in the center's awesome aquatic facility, "climb the walls" of our 24-foot climbing wall, and enjoy a movie on a theater-size movie screen. Plus, when the weather permits, children will run and play outdoors in our 26-acre Countryside Park that features a butterfly playground, interactive musical toys, and nature trails. We end the week with a special event, Fun Friday. What more could you ask for?

Time is also set aside for homework each day so that families may enjoy more quality time at home each evening. A daily snack is served upon arrival.

Registration, Fees & Forms

Click on the links below for more details about how to register for Rec'ing Crew, daily fees, and additional information for parents/guardians.

Rec'ing Crew Registration

STEP 1: Register online for Rec'ing Crew

STEP 2: Within 48 hours after registering, families will receive an email from ePACT containing one form for emergency, medication, and activity information. This form must be completed prior to the program's start date. No child will be permitted to attend without this form on file.

ePACT Participant Profile Form

An email from our health provider (ePact) will be sent within 72 hours after the completion of your camp sign up. This digital form will include all emergency contacts, medication, and activity information. This form must be completed online with our camp staff prior to your child's participation in camp. No child will be permitted to attend camp without this form on file. The deadline for submitting the ePact Participant Profile Form is noon on the Friday prior to the start of camp.

What is ePACT?
ePACT is a secure emergency network that the RecPlex uses to collect medical and emergency contact information electronically for summer camps. Not only does ePACT replace paper forms, but it also gives us a way to communicate with your family in the event of an illness, injury, or schedule change.

Using ePACT is easy and secure. Here’s how it works:

  • After registering for camp, you will receive an email invitation to share information with Washington Township RecPlex Summer Camp. If you don’t receive an email, please check your spam/junk folder and verify that we have the correct email address on file for you by calling the RecPlex at 937-433-0130.

  • Click "Complete Request" to create a free account, or log-in if you already have an existing ePACT account.

  • Next, you’ll enter the required information, including emergency contacts and medical conditions, and share it with us so that our camp staff has access.

ePACT makes it easy for patrons to share emergency information with us while also ensuring we have access to records anytime, anywhere, such as on a field trip or at the pool.

Do I have to complete the form again if my child attended a RecPlex program in the past?
If your child was enrolled in camp last season or attended Rec’ing Crew or School Days Off, you might be wondering why you’re getting a new ePACT request. At the end of every season, your dependent’s record is disconnected from the RecPlex as per ePACT’s terms of use and privacy policy.

This means that every year, you’ll be asked to confirm that all the information is still up-to-date and then to share this information for the current season. If you entered this information last year, it will be pre-populated in all the steps. Only new questions and waivers will need to be answered. If nothing has changed, it will take you less than 30 seconds to complete the form. Simply select your dependent and click on "Continue" on each step until you get to the final "Complete Info" step, where you’ll need to "Share" with us to give Washington Township RecPlex Summer Camps access to your dependent’s record for this year/season. Click here to learn more about reconfirming your record.

Is the information I submit through ePACT secure?
Absolutely! You always own your account and the information in it. Plus, ePACT maintains the same levels of security as online banking and limits access only to the administrators for enhanced privacy. Rest assured that your information will remain protected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Click on the links below to read questions and answers about the Rec'ing Crew after-school program.

What is Rec’ing Crew?

Rec’ing Crew is an after-school program for youth in grades K-5. It is offered every day Centerville Schools are in session. Rec’ing Crew keeps your child safe, happy, and engaged in constructive pursuits with a staff that is dedicated to enriching your child's experience, acting as mentors, and providing positive role models.

Free daily transportation from Centerville City Schools is provided by Centerville City Schools Busing. Please coordinate with Centerville Transportation and your child’s school. If your child does not attend a Centerville City School, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to drop the child off for the program.

What activities do the kids do in Rec’ing Crew?

Children can splash around in the center's awesome aquatic facility, "climb the walls" of our 24- foot climbing wall, enjoy a movie on a theater-size screen, and run and play outdoors in our 26-acre Countryside Park that features a butterfly playground, interactive musical toys, and nature trails.

Time is set aside for homework each day so that families may enjoy more quality time at home each evening. A daily snack is served upon arrival.

STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) projects will be created each week. The kids will have so much fun, they won’t even realize they are learning.

What are the hours of Rec’ing Crew?

Rec’ing Crew meets Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm- 6 pm when Centerville schools are in session.

How do I sign up for transportation?

For children who attend Centerville City Schools, free transportation is available from school to Rec’ing Crew. Please contact the Centerville City Schools Transportation Office at 937-885-7776 and your child's school to coordinate transportation.

Do I have to sign up for the whole week?

We are extremely flexible. Sign up to participate one day a week, every day, or somewhere in between. Pay for only the days you need.

What do I do when Centerville Schools are not in session during the school year?

School Days Off and Holiday Break Camps are available to all children in grades K-5 when Centerville City Schools are not in session due to teacher in-service, holidays, etc. However, your child does not need to attend Centerville Schools to participate in these programs.

Transportation is NOT provided these days. Children must be dropped off and picked up each day by an adult caregiver.

What should my child bring to Rec’ing Crew?

Children should bring:

  • Backpack

  • Snacks (We provide a daily snack when children arrive, but if your child does not prefer what we offer, or needs more nourishment after school, send snacks. Kids get hungry.)

  • Water bottle

  • A positive attitude

Swim Days Only (Wednesdays for Rec’ing Crew)

  • Swim gear and towel

  • Optional: flip flops/water shoes, goggles

Please make sure your child’s name is clearly marked on all items. The Washington Township RecPlex is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. A lost and found bin is located in RecPlex West’s main hallway and outside the pool area.

What should my child wear?

Whatever your child wore to school is fine, but make sure clothing is comfortable, casual clothing (loose shirts and shorts) that can get dirty, especially during School Days Off or Holiday Break Camps.

Wear closed-toe shoes. We recommend athletic shoes with socks; no clogs or any shoes with a heel, flip flops, or sandals (at the pool only).

What should my child NOT bring to Rec’ing Crew?
  • Cell phones (children will be required to leave cell phones in camp bag or book bag until the end of the day)

  • Electronic devices or games

  • Toys, playing cards, and other personal belongings, unless otherwise noted

  • Money -- children will not be permitted to use RecPlex vending machines or buy snacks or souvenirs on field trips (School Days Off/Holiday Break Camps)

Where do I pick up my child from Rec’ing Crew?

Only adults list on ePACT will be able to pick up your child. Please make sure all authorized adults are listed and bring a photo ID at pick up. Children can be pick up at RecPlex WEST, located at 965 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, easily accessible off McEwen Road. Signage will also be posted outside the entrances. You must come into the facility and check your camper in/out each day.

Please enter through the east glass doors. The interior doors will be locked. Please call the number on the door and a team member will open it for you.

Children not picked up by 6 pm will be charged a late fee.

Why must I show a valid photo ID at pick up?

Parents and caregivers need to sign children out when picking them up from Rec’ing Crew, School Days Off, or our Holiday Break Camps. Please provide a driver’s license or valid photo ID. The only adults authorized to pick up a child are those adults listed on the child’s ePACT medical form. This sign-in/sign-out process is for the safety and accountability of your child.

What if my child doesn’t know how to swim?

Swim tests will determine the areas of the pool campers can use. Each child will be wrist banded with the appropriate color designating the area they are permitted to swim in. For children who prefer not to swim, they can sit out and enjoy a book, play cards, or participate in quiet activities on the pool deck.

Will my child go on a field trip?

Only Holiday Break Camps and School Days Off participants will go on field trips. Local destinations will be printed in the Explore Guide and in MyRec when signing up. All travel schedules are tentative. While our intention is to follow the printed schedule, some changes may occur due to inclement weather or site difficulties. No refunds will be given for location or field trip changes. Transportation to field trips is provided by a Centerville School bus and bus driver.

Do I need to complete a medical form?

Prior to the first day of the program, parents/guardians must complete a Health Profile Participant Information Form through ePACT with parent/guardian original signature. This must be completed before your child can attend any program. All registered participants will receive an email with the information within 48 hours of registering.

What if my child needs to take medication?

All medication must be listed on the ePACT Health Profile Form. Staff will complete a medication form at check in on the first day of the program. All medication MUST be in the original container and accompanied by only the amount needed for the length of the program. All medications are secured in a locked bag with instructions carried and administered by the Director. All original containers will be returned to the parent/guardian upon conclusion of the program. Any original containers/inhalers or EpiPens that are not picked up will be disposed of properly.

What if my child gets sick?

If a child gets sick, we have identified an area where they can rest, be watched after, and safely isolate from others. We will communicate with parents or caregivers directly, and if necessary, arrange for the child to be taken to a healthcare facility for care.

We ask that you help us protect the health of our children and staff through the year. Any child who is sick or was sick within 24 of attending camp should not come to camp. Thank you for your cooperation.

Whom do I call if I need to speak to a staff member while my child is at Rec’ing Crew?

Rec’ing Crew has a cell phone to be used in case of emergencies and carried by the director. Please call 937-952-9029.

If you get the voicemail, please leave a message or text with the following information:
